Cale cale Trevally

Luke and I have been getting out in this cool weather over the past few weeks. The fishing has been quite productive, mostly around the times of dawn and dusk.

We've fished toward the mouth and the Woods Bays, which have produced trevally and flathead. We target these flicking prawn imitation plastics around including the Gladiator and Zerek Prawns.

Bream have also been holding under the boat moorings, seeking shelter as the sun rises higher in the sky. We target these bream using light braid and long leaders of 4lb, using 2.5" Zman Grubz in my personal favourite colour bloodworm, rigged on a light TT hidden weight jig head.

There were also a few trevally holding under the moorings as well. It was just a matter of landing a decent cast along and right next to a moored boat on the shaded side, and waiting until the line tightens up while the lure is slowly sinking with its fluttering tail.

Munna Bridge produced bream on the Zman Grubz and Jackall Chubby Deeps as well, including Luke's Cale Cale trevally. The Ski Run has also been worth trying for school jewfish and trevally. Luke caught the decent Jew pictured on a 3" Atomic Prong in Motor Oil Gold. We also got into a couple of GT's and flathead on prawn imitations and 3.5" Bass Assassin plastics in the colour Gold Digger.

Hi all, Andy here
Just wanted to let you know that Goat Island worked a dream for flathead.

Atomic Plazos worked the best, and the eastern end with the mud flats was the best for flathead. The western end was much better for surfacing whiting.

My mate Harvey who I went with got the best of the flathead.

Here are a few photos.
